Future Tense: used to express an action that is going to happen in the future; it has not happened yet.

Affirmative

Interrogative

He will work.

Will he work?

He will not work.

Formula: Subject + will+ bare infinitive (1st form of the verb) + complement

Examples:

Next year, we will read War and Peace.

It will be difficult, but I will manage.

Remember!

  • verb form (root verb) does not change even when the subject changes.
  • future tense sometimes combines with present tense.  (See sentence 4 & 5)
