Passive Voice:

  • Only transitive verbs can be changed into passive voice e.g. verbs that require an object such as sing a song, eat a meal, send a letter
  • The adverb or preposition of a phrasal verb must be repeated in the passive voice. E.g We called in the police. The police was called in.
  • Always use the past participle form of the verb
  • Be mindful of the helping verb changes
  • Agent e.g by .. can be deleted in some cases
